Going into the third round of the French Open, there are plenty of great matches going on. In this article, I will go over the top 4 best women's matchups (in my opinion), and give my thoughts and opinions.

Iga Swiatek vs Marie Bouskova

Iga Swiatek, like always, is playing amazing tennis. She has completely separated herself from the pack, and is winning everywhere she goes. She had a slight scare in her second round match against Osaka, losing 6-1 in the second, so this may cast doubts on her performance tomorrow. Bouskova is also playing some pretty good tennis, having won both of her matches in straight sets. You can never count Iga out, so I would choose Swiatek as the clear favorite.

Prediction: Swiatek in 2 sets

Leylah Fernandez vs Ons Jabeur

Although Jabeur is far from her best level, she achieved a pretty big win over Camila Osorio. The 29 year old tends to be the crowd favorite, doing her best to please them with her drop shots and tweeners. 21 year old Leylah Fernandez is also loved by the crown, having reached the quarterfinals here in 2022, she should be pretty confident going into the match. I would give Jabeur the edge, given her experience and ability to please.

Prediction: Jabeur in 3 sets

Chloe Paquet vs Marketa Vondrousova

Chloe Paquet had a pretty impressive win over Siniakova in the second round. The 29 year old wildcard will being coming up against a tough opponent, the 2023 Wimbledon champion is coming off of a good win over Katie Volynets. Vondrousova is the clear favorite in this match.

Prediction: Vondrousova in 2 sets

Coco Gauff vs Diana Yastremska

The French Open has always been one of Coco's best tournaments, and this year seems to be no different. The American has not dropped a set in her past two matches, and seems to be in good form. Yastremska is a tough opponent though, with her powerful strokes, she will try to bludgeon her way past Gauff. However, she is simply not consistent enough when it truly matters. As long as the 20 year old American holds her serve and stays mentally tough, she will be the clear favorite.

Prediction: Gauff in 2
