Top moments of the 2024 ATP season

Raya Jogi

Novak Djokovic's Olympic Gold? A bee invasion at Indian Wells? Tennis greats retiring? The 2024 ATP season has definitely had a lot of unforgettable instances, so here are my top moments going into 2025.

Ok - maybe I'm biased because I'm a Novak Djokovic superfan, but this was definitely a moment that shaped the tennis season. This was the moment where he not only completed tennis, but it also showcased why he is still competing at the highest level - his mentality.

The Bee Invasion: Indian Wells

You've got to admit, this was hilarious and absolutely terrifying at the same time. Seeing the reactions of everyone, how freaked out Alcaraz was, how relaxed Bill Gates was, and the confused "what the hell is going on" look on Zverev's face was definitely a top 10 moment of the year.

The One in a Million Tennis Shot: Bublik vs Shelton

This was a shot that left the whole tennis world shocked. I mean, I know that I replayed that video, at minimum, a couple hundred times. Even though the shot didn't count in the rulebook, it for sure counts as one of the most exciting ends to a match.

Retirements: Thiem, Nadal, Murray, Del Potro

Even though I’m not the biggest Rafael Nadal fan, I found myself sobbing when I watched him leave the game for good. The 2024 tennis season has seen many significant retirements, with legends like him bowing out. These departures seem to mark the end of an era of greatness that we have witnessed for the past twenty years, clearing the way for new, up-and-coming players to succeed.

Jannik Sinner's first Grand Slam

This moment is definitely what catapulted Sinner into being the most dominant player of 2024. He was able to come back from being two sets down to take down Medvedev. It was extremely impressive to watch him raise his level when it really mattered.

Those were my top moments from 2024, I'm excited to see what next season brings us!
